Union Street is a narrow alley in Reading connecting Broad Street and Friar Street, more known to the locals as "Smelly Alley", because of the open market selling fish, meat, fruits and vegetables. It used to be a popular place for fishmonger's and greengrocer's shops, although only few of them can be found in the present, it is still a home for many small, independent retailers.
One of the many reasons of our regular visit to Reading is the Pinoy (Filipino) Store located in here. Just an info for Filipinos who lived just close by, but I'm sure word of tongue has already spread the news to fellow Pinoys in the area.
From cooking ingredients, chichiria (snack/junk foods), rice (thank God!), the usual Pinoy breakfast food like longganisa and tocino, they pretty much got everything here.

wow, they're sound great :O
ReplyDeleteoh yeah, and I love rice too, I come from Indonesia, and rice was so great ♡ ㉦ ♡

Hi Donah! I'm sorry if I've already left you a previous comment on another post, however I seem to be having a huge brain fart today, mind you Sundays are usually my cleaning days and I've got so many things running besides my mind, since the washing machine is on full cycle and super loud!
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to share that you've got a great blog going here and one of the posts I read of yours that I was about to inform my husband about was the one about taking a jet charter plane. I daydreamed about leaving on a jet plane and not knowing when I'd be back again, to Texas that is lol. Anyways, thanks for sharing that! He'll never believe that it'll be cheaper than flying a regular airline, but I completely agree with you!
Enamored by your posts, I have decided to follow you which I hope you don't mind. Feel free to do the same! I have a friend that lives in the UK and she's probably the only Filipina/English friend I have with an accent that sounds so exotic, I love it! Lol, were you born there? Anyways, I don't want to make this go any longer...Say hello anytime!
Take care!
XoXo,
Jen
